June 19, 2025Hollywood Hypocrisy? Mark Ruffalo Blasted for Claiming “White People The Problem” While Worth $100 Million
Our recent video on TheQuartering YouTube channel exposed Marvel actor Mark Ruffalo facing a massive backlash after declaring that billionaires and white people are “dragging this country down,” not immigrants. This sentiment, expressed at a “No Kings rally” in New York City against President Trump’s policies, has sparked outrage given Ruffalo’s own immense wealth and what we perceive as a significant disconnect from reality.
Ruffalo, known for his role as the Hulk, made waves by stating that the nation’s problems stem from “extreme wealth” and that “white people are the ones committing the crimes,” not the immigrants allegedly targeted by the Trump administration. He adamantly declared, “immigrants aren’t the criminals,” suggesting instead that “most of the crimes that are committed in this country are by white people that non-immigrants”. We believe this perspective is fundamentally flawed and incorrect.
One of the most striking criticisms leveled against Ruffalo is his own financial standing. While he decries billionaires and “extreme wealth,” his net worth is estimated to be between $50 million and $100 million. As we highlight, most people would consider a $90 million fortune to be extreme wealth itself. It’s ironic, we argue, that someone who has amassed such a fortune in the American system now blames the wealthy, especially when he wasn’t born with that money. This situation echoes Bernie Sanders’ evolution from criticizing millionaires to only billionaires once he himself became a multi-millionaire.
A core point of contention we raised is Ruffalo’s deliberate blurring of the lines between “immigrants” and “illegal immigrants”. While he insists “immigrants aren’t the criminals,” we firmly state that every single person who crosses the border illegally has committed a crime. This means 100% of illegal immigrants are criminals, representing the “highest criminal rate of any group of people bar none”. Ruffalo’s choice to wear a hat emblazoned with “immigrant” rather than “illegal immigrant” suggests an attempt to mislead the public into believing he’s speaking about legal immigrants like a “grandma that came over here legally 45 years ago from Poland”.
Ruffalo also claimed that “immigrants add to our economy by the billions”. We strongly disagree with this assertion, stating that illegal immigrants do not add to our economy but are “a constant drain on society”. We pointed out that cities like New York and LA are forced to allocate “tens of billions of dollars” from their budgets to provide illegal immigrants with hotels, free Medicare, food, and shelter. We find it deeply troubling that these resources are being expended on individuals who have broken the law to enter our country, especially when “we don’t even give our veterans free free hotels and food” or adequately support homeless American citizens. We also highlighted the provision of “$5,000 debit cards when they cross the border,” questioning why such funds aren’t directed to struggling American families.
Regarding Ruffalo’s claim that “white people commit most of the crimes,” we emphasized the importance of understanding crime statistics on a “per capita” basis, which he seems to lack.
Furthermore, we question the genuine motivations behind such public displays from Hollywood actors. While Ruffalo wore an “immigrant” hat and spoke passionately, we pondered whether these actors “care about the cause or do they care about carrying the banner being in the front of the line” for photos. We also directly challenged Ruffalo’s personal commitment, asking how many illegal immigrants he has taken into his own home, concluding the answer is “zero”.
The public reaction to Ruffalo’s comments has been swift and critical, with many social media commenters openly questioning his “limited grasp on reality and logic” given his wealth. Comments like “How is he that rich but also so stupid” underscore the public’s frustration.
As we consistently advocate, we believe people should enter the country legally and be vetted. We stand by the position that illegal immigrants need to go, stating plainly, “Sorry not sorry. This is what I voted for”. We believe it’s time for people to stop financially supporting Hollywood actors who seem to “hate you” and the majority white audience that supports their careers. This entire episode, as we concluded, truly makes you feel like you’re in the “Twilight Zone” when “clueless Hollywood actors” dictate what we should be for and against.
