Below, we have outlined how you can request account deletion, what data is deleted, what is retained, and for how long.

1. How to Request Account Deletion

To request the deletion of your account, please follow these steps:

1. Log in to Your Account:

Log in with your username and password.

2. Go to “My Account” or “Account Settings”:

Look for the “My Account” or “Account Settings” link in the menu (depending on your site’s layout).

3. Submit a Deletion Request:

In your account dashboard, you will see an option labeled “Delete Account,” “Close Account,” or “Request Account Deletion.”

• If you do not see this option, contact us directly using the subject line “Account Deletion Request.”

4. Confirmation & Processing Time:

After you confirm the request, we will process the deletion of your account within [X] business days. We will send a confirmation email once your account has been successfully removed from our active systems.

2. Data That Will Be Deleted

When you request to delete your account, we will remove the following information from our active databases:

Account Profile Data: Name, username, email address, profile photos.

Membership Information (via Paid Memberships Pro): Your membership levels, payment history (except as noted below if legal retention is required), and subscription records.

Usage Data: Any custom profile fields or usage data associated with your profile, such as comments or forum posts on member-only sections (unless they are anonymized).

3. Data Retention Period & Exceptions

We respect your request to delete your data but may retain certain information for a limited time due to legitimate business or legal requirements:

Payment Records & Invoices: We may keep records of payments or invoices for up to [X] years to comply with tax or financial regulations. This data will no longer be linked to your personal profile once your account is deleted.

Backup Data: Your data may remain in encrypted backups for up to [X] days/weeks/months. After the backup retention period, your data will be purged from backups.

Legal Obligations: If we are required to retain data to comply with applicable laws or court orders, we will store only the minimum required data for the legally mandated period.

4. After Deletion

Loss of Access: Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to any content or services exclusive to your membership tier.

Reactivation: Account deletion is permanent. If you wish to use our services again, you must create a new account.
