The trend was preceded by popular X account Libs of TikTok sharing images from Coca-Cola’s custom can creator website. The site lets users create a customized 12-ounce Coke can for $7.95.
The screenshots shared by Libs of TikTok appeared to show the website preventing users from printing a can with “Trump 2024” while permitting the use of “Harris Walz 2024.”
“@CocaCola’s custom can website allows you to use ‘Harris Walz 2024’ but restricts you from using ‘Trump 2024’ because it’s ‘political in nature’ or ‘offensive,’” the post read, earning over 1.4 million views.
A review of the Coca-Cola website by The National Desk (TND) Wednesday confirmed the phrase “Trump 2024” was prohibited for political reasons.
“Looks like the name you requested is not approved,” an error message read when entering the phrase. “Names and phrases may not be approved if they are trademarked, political in nature, names of countries, celebrities, religious figures, as well as anything that could be considered offensive for other reasons. Oftentimes, a name might be accepted if you add a last name to the submission.”
However, “Harris Walz 2024″ displayed the same error message, contrary to some claims on social media. The site also blocked phrases such as “Trump Vance 2024,” “White House” and “POTUS” when attempted by TND.
Hyphenation also appeared to change the site’s response to some phrases. It allowed the use of “Trump-Vance,” but not “Trump Vance.” Similarly, “Harris-Walz” was allowed, but not “Harris Walz.”
The site permitted “Harris-Walz 2024,” but not “Trump-Vance 2024.”
Both “Tim Walz” and “JD Vance” were acceptable terms when attempted by TND. “Donald Trump,” “Kamala Harris” and ”Joe Biden” were not. Other prohibited terms included “Jesus,” “Allah,” “Democrat,” “Republican,” “Twitter” and “X.”

I only use Coca Cola t clean car parts and remove rust anyway, so no loss if I don’t buy it in the future. I stopped drinking that stuff the first time I saw it dissolve rust on my car.
