Warner Bros. finally debuted a trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom this past Thursday, and the first footage from James Wan’s sequel seemed to go over fairly well for the most part… especially taking some of the negative things we’ve heard about the movie into account.
Previous reports have indicated that Arthur Curry’s second solo adventure is a bit of a mess, with some going so far as to describe it as an “unmitigated disaster.” We do know that the film underwent several rounds of re-shoots (though Wan played this down in a recent interview), and there have been whispers about star Jason Momoa being vocal about how disappointed he was with how the sequel turned out.
Can it really be that bad? Like, walk out of a test screening bad? Apparently so!
We heard this had happened earlier this year, but didn’t really buy it. However, Grace Randolph has now revealed that she was told the same thing, and insider MTTSH has backed her up.
How terrible of an experience must a person be having to get up and walk out of a free test screening? To be fair, even if this did happen, it may have been an earlier cut of The Lost Kingdom, so improvements may have been made for the theatrical version that’ll be heading our way this December.
What do you make of this? Do you believe people left test-screenings of the Aquaman sequel? Drop us a comment down below, and have another look at the trailer.
“Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.
All returning to the roles they originated, Jason Momoa plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman, no, after w balancing his duties as both the King of Atlantis and a new father; Patrick Wilson is Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother and his nemesis, who must now step into a new role as his brother’s reluctant ally; Amber Heard is Mera, Atlantis’ Queen and mother of the heir to the throne; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is Black Manta, committed more than ever to avenge his father’s death by destroying Aquaman, his family and Atlantis; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, a fierce leader and mother with the heart of a warrior. Also reprising their roles are Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin.”
