The watchdog group StopAntisemitism has named commentator Candace Owens as their “Antisemite of the Year.”
“Candace Owens has promoted dangerous and hateful ideas, including old anti-Jewish lies like claims about Jews drinking Christian blood, conspiracies that Jews control the media, and anti-Israel hysteria,” said StopAntisemitism founder Liora Rez. “There is no extreme or hateful theory she hasn’t embraced.”
Last month, Owens criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on her show, saying, “Maybe Netanyahu should’ve made the list because he’s killed more Semites than anybody—did we forget Palestinians are Semites?”
StopAntisemitism said the title of “Antisemite of the Year” is given to the person who has done the most to harm the Jewish community. Rez explained, “This year, Candace Owens stood out above all others for her relentless campaign of dangerous rhetoric, earning more votes than anyone in the award’s history.”
On Sunday evening, Owens posted on X about Israel’s 1967 attack on the USS Liberty, a controversial topic. The post gained 600,000 views in three hours. Owens wrote, “Man, I REALLY kicked the hornet’s nest with this USS Liberty episode. They’re like… super dee duper mad this time. Oh well. Luke 12:2.”
Rez added that Owens has been “disavowed by many of her former friends and allies,” calling her a “cautionary tale.” Rez concluded, “As Owens has spiraled into irrelevance, so does every society where antisemitism takes root.”
