Diddy Found Not Guilty on Most Serious Charges: Our Prediction Proven Correct!
Wow, we’re actually shocked, but our prediction from yesterday’s video ended up being 100% correct: Diddy is going to walk! It looks like the verdict is in, and the jury has spoken.
Diddy was found guilty of two of the five charges, but not guilty of the only charges that really mattered. As we predicted yesterday, the jury seemed stuck on the prostitution charges because they were the same crime committed twice, and there was uncertainty if that would lead to a RICO charge. It turns out, that analysis was correct.
Here’s a breakdown of the key verdicts:
- Count One (Racketeering Conspiracy): Not Guilty
- Count Two (Trafficking): Not Guilty
- Count Three (Transportation to engage in prostitution): Guilty
- Count Four (Trafficking): Not Guilty
- Count Five (Second Prostitution Charge): Guilty
So, Diddy Combs was found guilty on transportation for prostitution but not guilty on the most serious charges, including racketeering and trafficking. We all knew he likely wouldn’t beat the prostitution charges, as the actual prostitutes testified against him. What’s truly interesting is how quickly this came about.
Our Insights on the Outcome
The maximum sentence for each of the charges Diddy was convicted of is 10 years, which theoretically could be added together for a 20-year sentence. However, our prediction is that he’s not getting several years for this. Most people probably don’t go to prison on a first offense of hiring prostitutes at all, let alone for years. We expect he will be set free with time served after sentencing. There is no minimum sentence for these transportation to engage in prostitution charges. If there were minimums like those for RICO or trafficking cases, the outcome would be very different.
The defense attorney and former prosecutor, Rammani, predicted this exact outcome, stating that without a RICO conviction, the case would effectively boil down to just the two prostitution charges. He called this a massive loss for the government and the most expensive prostitution trial in American history.
We’ve been consistent in saying that we never believed the prosecution proved trafficking, nor did we believe they proved any of these women were unwilling participants. The lawyer explained that trafficking is difficult to prove because consent is a defense. Combs’s lawyers presented a plethora of text messages showing that his accusers were eager to participate in “freakoffs” or “hookup marathons”. This certainly posed a challenge for the prosecution, as it was never made clear in court who Diddy allegedly trafficked these women to.
The Scene in the Courtroom
Sean Combs was seen smiling as he shook one of his lawyers’ hands and turned to look at his family. He put his hands together in prayer and mouthed “Thank you, thank you” at the jury. He even pumped his right fist. After the judge left the room, Combs got on his hands and knees on the floor and appeared to pray to himself. His family and supporters then erupted in loud cheers after he stood up, and he blew a kiss towards them. Several of his attorneys hugged each other.
Diddy Combs’s lawyer, Mark Agnif, is asking the judge to release the rapper from jail now that he has been acquitted of the most serious charges. His proposal includes Diddy being permitted to live in his home in Florida, with a bond of whatever size the judge deems fit, perhaps a million dollars.
What’s Next?
As of now, it looks like Diddy is going to be released on bond today. Given he’s already served a significant amount of time in prison for essentially prostitution charges, it seems unlikely he’d be kept in further. Court will reconvene this afternoon to discuss pre-sentencing conditions, and letters from both the defense and prosecution are expected to the judge by 1:00 PM.
Our current prediction is that Diddy will leave the court today as a free man awaiting sentencing. We don’t expect him to receive a sentence stiffer than what he’s already served. While this case focused on criminal charges, Diddy still has a mountain of civil lawsuits to worry about, potentially totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. We’ll provide an update video later today as more information becomes available.
