Dylan Mulvaney attended the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards in London on Wednesday, where she received the award for Woman of the Year. Mulvaney opted for a dramatic voluminous gown by Millia London, which featured a beaded corset and a ruffled tulle skirt. The influencer accessorized with a matching set of jewelry, including a pendant necklace, rings and drop earrings.
Hairdresser Andrew Dylan styled Mulvaney’s platinum blond tresses in a sleek bob with curled bangs, while makeup artist Dominic Skinner gave her a dark smoky eye and plum lipstick.
After accepting her award from singer Paloma Faith, Mulvaney discussed how having the LGBTQIA+ community’s support has helped her through tough times — especially while receiving transphobic attacks online.
“No matter how hard I try, or what I wear, or what surgeries I have, I will never reach an acceptable version of womanhood by those hateful people’s standards,” she said. “But as long as the queer community sees me for my truth, I’m going to be OK.”
Mulvaney joined TikTok in search of a creative outlet after the pandemic disrupted her job as a Broadway actress. Mulvaney’s “Days of Girlhood” video series, which documented her transition, led her to amass over ten million followers on the app.
Earlier this year Mulvaney attended the 76th annual Tony Awards in New York, wearing an off-the-shoulder gown by Christian Siriano. Mulvaney has a history on Broadway, having starred in a national tour of “Book of Mormon” in 2019.
Mulvaney has also become a fixture in the fashion world, becoming a spokesperson for Kate Spade and sitting front row at the brand’s runway shows in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
