Arrest Made in InfoWars Reporter Jamie White Murder Case
An arrest has been made in the case involving the death of InfoWars reporter Jamie White, who tragically lost his life last month. The incident, which occurred shortly after midnight on March 9th, now appears to have been a vehicle burglary gone wrong.
Authorities have arrested 17-year-old Eloy Adrien Carmal. He was booked into the Travis County Jail on May 1st. Carmal has been charged with capital murder. His bond has been set at $250,000. According to an affidavit, Carmal is an accomplice of three other suspects who are still at large. Four suspects in total are connected to the incident.
Law enforcement sources indicate that Jamie White, who was 36 years old and an InfoWars employee, was attempting to stop four suspects from burglarizing his vehicle at an apartment complex near East Parmer Lane on Interstate 35 when the confrontation occurred. White was found in a terrible state when officers arrived. He was killed execution style, struck by one bullet through the carotid artery through the back of the neck.
Investigators were told by the arrested suspect that he and others broke the window of White’s green Kia Soul with the purpose of joy riding. He stated that Jamie White confronted one of the suspects inside the vehicle, which is when the incident happened before he and the other suspects fled the area. Disturbingly, the suspects took White’s life but didn’t even take the car, allegedly only stealing about 45 cents in change from the center console.
The Austin Police Department has been commended for their investigation. Their work involved using geolocation from cell phones, witness accounts, and other investigative techniques to track down suspects. Surveillance footage from the apartment complex captured the events and suspect vehicles. Police obtained search warrants for cell phone tower data near locations where stolen Kia vehicles associated with the suspects were seen. One cell phone number was found to be in all relevant locations and times, leading investigators to Carmal.
The crime involved the targeting of Kia branded vehicles. Witnesses told police that a black Kia Soul was seen pulling up on the green Kia Soul before the incident. This black Kia Soul was later found abandoned. Another silver Kia Soul, also stolen, was linked through surveillance footage showing a man attempting to break into other vehicles before stealing the black Kia Soul. Police records note that Kia vehicles are frequently targeted by car thieves due to manufacturing defects that make them easy targets. The manufacturer is reportedly facing lawsuits over these issues.
We have seen a significant crime wave in Austin, linked in part to the police budget being cut by almost half, allowing criminals to believe it’s a free-for-all. It is surprising that the suspect in this capital murder case wasn’t released without bond, given the track record of the local DA, Jose Garza, who has been known to release individuals charged with violent crimes. The arrested suspect may have a long juvenile rap sheet.
This violence highlights a disturbing disrespect for life. It is frightening how numb people are becoming to such prevalent crime and violence, partly due to constant exposure through social media.
While an arrest has been made, offering some hope for justice for Jamie’s family and friends, we remain pessimistic about the potential sentence, especially given the local judicial climate. We must also remember that three other co-conspirators in this incident are still at large and also deserve justice.
For those who own a Kia vehicle, it is recommended to consider additional security measures, as these cars continue to be easy targets for theft.
We will continue to track this story as it unfolds and pray for Jamie White’s family – his dad, sister, and others – who are amazing people.
