Here at TheQuartering, we’ve witnessed perhaps one of the most satisfying “f around and find out” scenarios imaginable. It’s a classic tale of consequences unfolding, and frankly, we love serving up the hottest, most steaming plates of FAFO you can imagine.
The story begins with an individual who gained popularity on X, operating an account called “LA Scanner”. This person, identified as Jack Quillian, was actively doxing ICE agents, sharing their locations, and even specifying the hotels where they were staying. Quillian, who doesn’t even live in Los Angeles, was posting messages like, “If you see federal agents in LA DM us a photo in the location. Let’s keep LA safe”. We’ve always maintained that powering the rioters with not only agents’ addresses but their hotel information is extremely dangerous.
Then came the “finding out” portion, and it’s quite a reveal. Jack Quillian’s identity was uncovered through counter-doxing efforts. And what did we find? It turns out Jack Quillian has a felony charge from late 2023, where he was found guilty of stalking. While an SA charge against him was dismissed, he is unequivocally a convicted felon. It’s also worth noting, as a fun fact, that a convicted felon like Jack is not legally allowed to own or operate a police scanner.
Once his past came to light, Quillian’s tune changed dramatically. He issued a formal apology, stating, “I should not have posted the locations of ICE raids and I will no longer do so”. He claimed to have contacted authorities and expressed willingness to cooperate if laws were broken, even offering to turn himself in. He panicked after people doxed him, discovered his felony record, and turned him in to the authorities. Quillian desperately pleaded for people to stop targeting his family, claiming, “Someone has already come to my home pounding on the door and demanding to confront me. This has gone too far”. He also stated, “To anyone I may have put at risk I apologize. That was never my intention”.
We stand by our assessment: While we might agree that people shouldn’t send others to his house, we simply don’t care. This is pure consequence culture. He put ICE agents’ families at risk, yet suddenly expects sympathy when his own loved ones are targeted. We believe he absolutely intended to put people at risk.
The legal consequences have already begun. A federal judge has now issued a warrant for Jack Quillian’s arrest for doxing ICE agents. The LA Scanner account has been deactivated. Quillian even allegedly demanded the removal of posts revealing his criminal record, saying, “Remove that post about me immediately”. Our response? Nah, we don’t care.
It’s clear that what Jack Quillian did was extremely wrong. He was willing to tell everyone where law enforcement officers were hiding and staging. It’s also interesting to note that Quillian, despite his “love LA” persona, is an LGBTQ activist based out of Houston, Texas, and not even from Los Angeles.
We’re noticing a positive trend of counter-doxing and counter-attacks. We’re all for people fighting back against this kind of behavior. For too long, the left has used “cyber terries” and anonymous accounts, often run by “left-wing lunatics,” to target people. Now, it’s cool that the right has people willing to push back.
Ultimately, we don’t care if people who dox federal employees get doxed themselves. They put lives at risk, and we don’t believe this guy would have cared if something terrible happened to those ICE agents. People who operate online with impunity need to be dealt with. We admit, we shouldn’t take pleasure in others’ suffering, but seeing the torment our friends and allies have experienced over the last decade, it’s hard not to. God forgive us, but we hope this guy enjoys the consequences, and we hope he doesn’t drop the soap.
