Joe Rogan said his proposed interview with Vice President Kamala Harris never came to fruition despite him telling her team, “I don’t give a fuck” as to their increasing demands.
Fellow comedian Theo Von joined Rogan on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast for an episode released Friday, and Rogan spoke more about his attempts to get Harris to Austin, Texas while he and Von were discussing their interviews with President-Elect Donald Trump.
“I bet there’s a person in there. I bet I can get to that person,” Rogan said when discussing the “what if” scenario where he did interview Harris. “I wanted to find that person. I didn’t want to hear all the speeches. I don’t want to hear, ‘I was raised middle class,’ I don’t want to hear any of that shit.”
“She’s a roller skater, did you know that?” Von asked.
“No, I would love to find that out. I would love to talk to her about all kinds of shit. I literally said — because there were a few restrictions of things they didn’t want to talk about, but I said, ‘I don’t give a fuck, get her in here.’ Like, whatever you want to talk about. Then they want to know if I edit. I was like, there’s not going to be any editing, there’s no editing. We’re not going to edit,” Rogan said.
The comedian did blast Harris and accuse her of deploying “80 different accents” during her campaign, but also said he simply wanted to talk to her and he would have been happy if politics never got brought up at all.
“I just wanted to talk. I feel like you give someone a couple of hours and you start talking about anything, I’m going to see the pattern of the way you think, I’m going to see the way you process ideas, I’m going to see whether or not you’re calculated or whether you’re just free,” he said.
