The situation surrounding the Karmelo Anthony case has regrettably taken a dark turn, particularly for the family of the victim, Austin Metaf. We’ve seen just truly terrible behavior directed at Austin’s twin brother. His twin brother held him in his arms as he passed away, and now he is receiving credible threats on his life, reportedly by Karmelo supporters. On top of this, BLM activists are allegedly making these threats against him.
It’s also come to our attention that the Metaf family, the victim’s family, has been swatted multiple times. Local media reports indicate they were swatted not just once or twice, but a total of three times just recently. Both of Austin’s parents’ homes have been swatted repeatedly. This is happening even as Austin’s father, Jeffrey Metaf, is trying to remain unbiased and, as some perceive, has done nothing but “worship” the black community since his son’s life was taken. He is still getting a significant level of hate and attacks, and we have to ask, what does his brother have to do with any of it?
Jeffrey Metaf has also reportedly lost his job. While some might question his public stance, according to Amuse, who some say has connections with the father, Jeff Metaf privately hopes Karmelo Anthony is convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Dominic Michael Tripley has also repackaged this information, stating that the father of the slain teen, Jeff Metaf, is privately saying this.
Meanwhile, TMZ has reported that the Karmelo Anthony family has fled their rental home. They were living in a majority Asian, walled, and gated community but claimed it was too dangerous. We don’t know where they moved, but we speculate it might be somewhere even better. They have reportedly received the half a million dollars and are already spending it. Interestingly, the Karmelo family seems to have finally gotten the hint, as we’ve noticed no more press conferences or stories leaked to the media after the previous narrative trying to paint Karmelo as the real victim.
Regarding the potential legal outcome, while Austin’s father reportedly hopes for a life sentence, we frankly don’t think that’s going to happen. People who commit worse crimes don’t even get life in prison. We suspect Karmelo will likely face a manslaughter charge with a minimum sentence and be quietly released within a year or two. This is just our speculation, partly based on our view of the justice system and the public pressure dynamics, which we don’t see lining up to convict Karmelo of the charge he deserves in the same way pressure existed in the Derek Chauvin case. We also note the curious situation with the judge, who is allegedly sympathetic due to sharing the same skin color as the defendant, which would be concerning regardless of race.
We’ve also seen attempts to frame the public’s interest in this case. The Dallas Morning News published an article suggesting the “Frisco tragedy is being exploited by social media and worse”. They imply “sleazy figures” are portraying this as racially motivated without evidence. We haven’t seen any major narrative pushing racial motivation outside of factors like poor impulse control and hip-hop culture. We challenge the Dallas Morning News to source their claim of a huge racial motivation narrative. We believe they are trying to defend Karmelo and paint him as a sympathetic figure. We question why people wouldn’t be interested in this case, asking if they said the same about the Derek Chauvin case. We find it suspicious the article didn’t even have a named author.
There’s talk of bombshell cell phone footage related to the case. Amuse has apparently provided updates on this. It’s rumored that Karmelo Anthony’s family is trying to prevent this footage from being released before the trial because they worry it will help jurors see their son as a cold-blooded killer. There are even claims they are threatening to take Austin’s twin brother.
Adding another layer, Daniel Penny’s lawyer, Thomas Kenneth, has commented on Karmelo’s case. While not representing Karmelo, he has called for respect and compared the rhetoric in Karmelo’s case to that faced by Penny. Kneff argued for Karmelo’s inherent right to self-defense. We strongly disagree that what happened was self-defense. Kneff also mentioned how elected officials in the Penny case rashly prejudged his client’s guilt, suggesting this might be happening with Karmelo Anthony.

It’s Metcalf, not Metaf.
