We highly suspect this will occur next week Friday, as authorities often choose this day to minimize press coverage. If it were announced on a Monday or Tuesday, it might suggest he would face the appropriate charge, but a Friday announcement typically indicates a move towards a lighter charge.

For those not entirely familiar, it’s crucial to understand the difference between a “charge” and an “indictment”. A charge is a formal accusation from a local prosecutor, whereas an indictment is a formal accusation issued by a grand jury after they’ve reviewed all the evidence. Both are accusations, but an indictment specifically reflects a grand jury’s determination of probable cause, which doesn’t require judicial oversight even when prosecuting minors as adults under Texas’s concurrent jurisdiction laws, as is the case here.

It whines and complains about certain individuals raising money, yet inexplicably has no issue with Karmelo Anthony’s fundraising, despite our clear observation that he definitely raised all of his money based on hatred of white folks. The article, titled “Go viral for racist behavior, receive $750,000,” is solely aimed at smearing anyone who raises money for their defense when the “races are reversed”—that is, when a white person is the victim of an attack by a Black person.

The Guardian’s piece talks about Shiloh Hendricks, who raised money after a controversial incident. While we don’t necessarily endorse every “business plan,” we take issue with The Guardian completely ignoring the underlying racial motivation behind Karmelo Anthony’s fundraising. If you merely read the comments on his fundraising campaign, you’d find black individuals celebrating his actions and stating Austin Metcalf deserved it. The same racial motivation that The Guardian condemns in other cases was undeniably present in Anthony’s fundraising, yet their article bizarrely claimed, “Well it was different with him it was just all good people who wanted to do good things”.

What’s truly egregious is the silence from mainstream media outlets like ABC, NBC, The Guardian itself, and Daily Beast. Not a single one has published an article condemning the wildly anti-white comments in Karmelo Anthony’s fundraiser. People are voting with their views and dollars, and for many who donated to Anthony and expressed sentiments like “destroy Whitey,” The Guardian simply labels them “good boys”. This stands in sharp contrast to how figures like Derek Chauvin, Kyle Rittenhouse, and Daniel Penny had to endure lengthy trials and significant charges.

The bottom line is there are bad people on all sides, but the media consistently reports on only one, destroying white people’s lives for “Karen moments,” while excusing and even promoting Black individuals’ actions and fundraisers, often portraying them as oppressed. The Guardian’s role in excusing and handwaving all of this is deeply concerning.
