Once or twice I might call it a coincidence, but this is getting out of control for Netflix.
Officials say two men who appeared in the Netflix show “Cheer” have been arrested and charged in separate sex crime cases involving minors.
23-year-old Mitchell Ryan and 25-year-old Robert Joseph Scianna were arrested Wednesday, five months after “Cheer” star Jerry Harris was arrested and indicted on sex crime charges.
Ryan was arrested in Texas on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Dallas County Sheriff’s Department records show the alleged incident occurred on July 24. Ryan was released early Friday morning on a $50,000 bond.
Chesterfield County Police say Scianna was arrested in Virginia after allegedly soliciting sex from a juvenile online through a social media platform. He was charged with taking “indecent liberties with a child and using an electronic communication device to solicit sex. Officials released a statement on the matter, saying Scianna arranged to meet a juvenile for sex after getting to know them on social media.
Scianna is being held in the Chesterfield County Jail without bond.
Scianna appeared in one episode of “Cheer,” where he posed for a late-night photo shoot with Gabi Butler.
