White House Shockwave: Elon Musk and Scott Bessant Engaged in Physical Altercation
A major physical confrontation has erupted at the White House, involving Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant, with both right-wing and left-wing media outlets reporting on the incident. We find these reports highly believable, describing what appears to be an all-out fight.
Details spilling out indicate a highly tense situation following a meeting in the Oval Office, where former President Donald Trump reportedly snubbed Musk, opting instead to take Bessant’s advice on the acting IRS commissioner. As Musk and Bessant exited the Oval Office, they began hurling insults at one another in the hallway. The exchange escalated dramatically when Bessant reportedly struck Musk where it hurts, daring to call the billionaire’s Department of Government Efficiency a failure for not rooting out the $1 trillion in wasteful and fraudulent federal spending Musk promised to eliminate. We believe this accusation is unfair, as Musk has certainly identified a significant amount of government waste and abuse, and efforts have begun to codify some of these cuts, such as USA ID. However, the pace of these cuts does need to accelerate.
According to former chief strategist Steve Bannon, Bessant directly told Musk, “You’re a fraud, you’re a total fraud,” which is when Musk attacked Bessant. Bessant then hit the world’s richest man right back. An insider described Musk ramming his shoulder into Bessant’s rib cage “like a rugby player”. Multiple people were reportedly forced to step in and break up the brawl as the two men were getting dangerously close to the office of National Security Adviser Mike Walls. Following the clash, Musk was escorted out of the West Wing.
We understand that Donald Trump sided with Scott Bessant 100% following the incident. However, President Trump was reportedly unhappy that the fight occurred, stating, “This is too much”. This public blowup has led to Musk being “iced out” of Donald Trump’s inner circle. We believe this incident also reinforces the fact that leakers inside the White House are laser-focused on Musk. Sources close to Musk have highlighted his poor relationship with Susie Wiles, Trump’s chief of staff, with one source indicating he treated her like a secretary despite her proven track record of success leading Trump’s 2024 campaign. We also note that Musk’s alleged frequent ketamine use, which reportedly affected his bladder functions and his possession of a pill box containing 20 different drugs, could contribute to him being volatile. Separately, Musk reportedly berated Marco Rubio for not firing someone at the State Department, with Rubio sarcastically questioning if Musk wanted him to rehire officials just to fire them again.
The feud between Trump and Musk is expected to linger, given that both men are described as having some of the biggest egos on the planet. Musk reportedly believes he is the reason Trump got elected, and since Elon owns X (which became a mega-megaphone for Trump), we know that someone taking credit for Trump’s success is a “third rail” for him. While we believe Trump would have won regardless, Elon certainly helped. We also note that Musk has de-escalated tensions slightly by deleting an Epstein tweet, which is a positive step.
Beyond the White House drama, we witnessed a great moment from Trump at the UFC this weekend. The crowd absolutely erupted for him. We saw UFC champion Kayla Harrison’s pure joy when she met Trump, and even Shaquille O’Neal sought out President Trump to shake his hand at UFC 314. We believe it’s a good thing that people want to say hello to the President.
Meanwhile, LA has been experiencing riots, with individuals burning cars and attacking police officers. The FBI has added an LA protester to its most wanted list, offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of a man who allegedly attacked a federal officer and damaged government property. While we support peaceful protest, we emphatically state that burning police cars and engaging in such “nonsense” is not acceptable.
Finally, Trump’s travel ban has gone into effect, a measure we absolutely support. The ban targets 12 countries – Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela – with either outright bars from entry or significant visa restrictions. We believe this ban is necessary to preserve national security and prevent “bad behavior” in the United States. Families are already scrambling to move flights out of Cuba ahead of the ban. We fully support this ban and advocate for its widening until the country has its affairs under control. Despite all the Elon-related drama, Trump has largely stayed focused on business and kept things moving forward.
