Snow White Producer’s Son UNLOADS on Rachel Zegler Blaming Her for Box Office FLOP!

But now, we have Jonah Platt, son of producer Mark Platt, absolutely unloading on Rachel Zegler for, in his eyes, ruining his father’s movie. The comments from Platt surfaced on Instagram after a user inquired about Mark Platt’s trip to New York to speak with Zegler about the movie “tanking”. According to Jonah Platt, his father flew to New York to ask Zegler to remove a #FreePalestine post. Now, while Zegler is entitled to her personal opinions on her own account, the issue arose when she allegedly used the Snow White trailer to promote this political ideology on Twitter. She reportedly uploaded the trailer and then politicized it in her replies, specifically using the movie’s launch to push her views.
Platt didn’t hold back, blaming Zegler’s “narcissism” for the film’s failure. He argued that tens of thousands of people worked on the movie, and she “hijacked the conversation for her own immature desires at the risk of all her colleagues and crew,” including the “blue-collar workers who depended on that movie to be successful”. He stated that “narcissism is not something to be coddled and encouraged”.
The full comment from Jonah Platt is scathing. He emphasized that his father, as the producer of a massive Disney property with hundreds of millions of dollars invested, had to leave his family to reprimand a 20-year-old employee who was dragging her personal politics into promoting a movie she was contractually obligated to publicize. Platt called this “adult responsibility and accountability” and asserted that her actions “clearly hurt the film’s box office”. He also pointed out that “free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions”.
This isn’t the only controversy surrounding Zegler. As we’ve discussed, there’s been plenty of debate around the film, from the handling of the seven dwarves to Gal Gadot’s pro-Israel stance. But Platt’s direct attack puts a new spin on things, focusing squarely on Zegler’s actions. However, the financial reality is undeniable, with reports suggesting the movie is heading for a massive loss. Some are even saying this could be a “$200 billion minimum” loss, directly attributing it to Zegler’s actions.
It’s also worth noting that Jonah Platt has been vocal against anti-semitism and has spoken out against figures like Kanye West. His father, Mark Platt, has also previously discussed actors making political statements. He emphasized the importance of having informed conversations at the right time, not amidst anger.
Disney has yet to comment on Jonah Platt’s explosive remarks, nor have representatives for either Jonah or Mark Platt.
