Only 3 seasons for a legend?
I know we’ve said this countless times over the last two years but it’s worth mentioning again. The Mandalorian was instrumental in bringing fans’ interest back to the Star Wars franchise after the sequel trilogy failed to click. Obviously, the success of the Disney+ series can be credited to the brilliant minds behind the project, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni and so far, the dynamic duo has been riding a huge wave of momentum ahead of Season 3’s production start date.
Speaking of, The Mandalorian‘s upcoming season is slated to begin filming next month according to actor and director Carl Weathers. Originally, plans reportedly called for the series to run for at least four seasons but according to a shocking new rumor, Lucasfilm could end the series altogether after Season 3.
According to the StarWarsOnly Twitter page, the groundbreaking Star Wars spinoff show will mark its third and final season but there’s a huge catch. Although the series itself will allegedly get canceled, the report says that Din Djarin and Grogu’s story will continue and be carried over to upcoming shows like Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic. As it stands, nothing has been officially confirmed yet so take this one with a huge grain of salt.
