We Need to Talk About Women on the Front Lines of Policing
We have long resisted the idea that women shouldn’t be cops. Our stance has always been that there are plenty of examples of bad male police officers out there too. However, it feels like the bad female cops are simply on another level. A heart-stopping video that recently emerged from California is making, in our opinion, the best possible case for why women just shouldn’t be police officers.
This video showed dramatic bodycam footage of a moment where a police officer begged for her life. The unidentified woman is heard pleading, “please don’t take my life,” after a confrontation with a 26-year-old man, Oshan McClennintoch, from Fountain Valley, Orange County. The officer told him he wasn’t in trouble and just needed to talk. McClennintoch, who appeared disoriented, asked if she could take him somewhere. The officer replied they would figure it out and asked him to take a seat, also noting he had no shirt on. After being asked again to take a seat, his behavior suddenly changed. He snapped, “I don’t have to,” before running off while chanting. He ran towards a gas station, then a bank, and into a parking lot.
Tragically, this individual has ended up losing his life. We believe this outcome occurred because this female cop couldn’t do her job. She was so bad at her job that this man is now no longer with us. We have shown part of the video, as it is staggering how bad the cop is. In the clip, she pulled her weapon, but the man just walked up to her and grabbed it. He absolutely just walked up to her and grabbed it. At any point, she could have pulled the trigger, and it would have been totally justified. But instead, she completely collapsed. That was not restraint; that is what is called a complete meltdown. Then she dropped an extra magazine for him. This individual was probably trying to provoke a “suicide by cop” or whatever, but because this woman couldn’t control the man, he ended up dead. She could have tased him, closed her door, or dispatched him herself, but her male partner reportedly had to save her life while she was literally crying and melting down.
Based on situations like this, in our view, there should just be no female officers, period, none on the street. We are reminded of a saying that if you ever catch the eye of a female cop, you should hope you wore your bulletproof vest. We hope you have your vest on. We’re praying for you, because that gun on her waist is at some point going to accidentally go off. She’s going to draw it out thinking it’s a taser. She’s going to have her finger on the trigger before she’s ready to fire. Or perhaps the officer drew their handgun instead of their taser because something you did made her feel threatened. If you are taller than her, she feels threatened for her life. Her only physical recourse is to shoot you. This could be an accidental discharge. We just hope that if you ever get pulled over by a woman, you’re wearing a bulletproof vest.
There are numerous cases. Again, yes, there are male cops out there that shouldn’t be on the job, but female cops should not be on the streets, period. As Matt Walsh pointed out several years ago, a female officer is going to be easily overpowered by more than 50% of the population. Given that the people most often getting arrested are men, 80% to 90% of the interactions an officer is going to have of a physical variety are going to be with a man. This means a female cop is going to get overpowered 80% to 90% of these interactions. We are just making up that specific number, but it’s obviously a large percentage. You will not be able to physically overpower that person in 80% to 90% of these interactions.
There are innumerable examples. Here is one from a few weeks ago where a female officer reportedly gave a guy a “lead injection” with his own weapon. He had told them that he was armed. She grabbed it and she put a bullet through his leg. Oops. What is going on? There are numerous examples. How about Kim Potter? Perhaps the most famous example. She took a guy’s life because she thought it was a taser. You thought it was a taser? We believe there are zero scenarios in the world where you could pick up those two items and think they are the same thing. Zero scenarios. This is the origination of the “taser, taser, taser” phrase, we believe. We had another clip; this is just like the top five or ten Google searches. There was another one where the female officer just took out a guy. Right here, we retweeted this morning. Here’s another one. By the way, you know exactly what’s going to happen before it does. Okay, they’re struggling. Okay, here’s a female cop [followed by discussion of a death].
We honestly don’t even understand what is happening. We don’t know how many more examples we can give you. Obviously, there are funny incidents involving male cops, like the one who thought a falling acorn was a threat and did barrel rolls. Yes, there are bad male cops, and they should be off the streets too. But the female ones are never going to be in a position to succeed because they cannot physically overpower the vast majority of people they will need to handle.
While we are usually the first to say that if you just cooperate and comply and are reasonable with police officers, you’re almost certainly going to be fine. Generally, almost always, when someone ends up getting shot or hurt during an interaction with the cops, it’s because they went out of their way to turn the situation violent and dangerous. That is correct. But there are exceptions to every rule, and the California incident is an exception. This exception, we argue, is made possible by having a female police officer. We know there are plenty of male officers who do dumb things, that’s exactly our point too. However, this type of outcome is still what you inevitably get when you start bringing women into the force in the name of diversity and inclusion. He is right. As we’ve said, DEI is in action. This is what happened.
You can tell in that short clip from the body camera that this woman was very nervous handling the guy’s firearm. So, how can a woman who is nervous handling a gun be effective? Look, we have seen plenty of male cops who are large and couldn’t fight either, and we believe they should be off the force too. But the reality is, women have zero chance in a physical altercation that does not involve them having to use lethal force. It just has to stop. We have to stop pretending. Look, women are smart. They can do investigations on crime scenes. They could be investigators. They can do a lot of jobs in the police force. But they cannot be on the street, in the field. It just can’t happen. This applies equally to overweight male cops and male cops with bad tendencies. It just has got to stop now.
