Twitch streamer Asmongold isn’t buying Elon Musk’s gamer credentials and called him out for what he suspects is gasp account-sharing in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2). According to Asmongold, the billionaire might be pulling a sneaky move, using someone else to play the game while pretending to be a legit gamer.
The drama ignited when PoE 2 expert Quin69 roasted Musk’s gameplay on January 8, cracking up over how utterly lost Musk seemed with the game’s mechanics.
“Absolutely no way he’s playing that account,” Quin said between laughs. “He just logs in to do a map now and then. That’s why there’s a tab called ‘Elon’s Map,’ and he has no idea how to even activate the Atlas.”

By January 10, Asmongold had entered the chat and was ready to blow the whistle. “Listen, there’s no way he played that account,” he declared before even seeing the evidence. “I’d bet my left keyboard key he bought the account or had someone grind for him. One hundred f***ing percent.”
After watching Quin and Path of Exile legend Kripparian break it down, Asmon doubled down, dragging Musk’s Diablo 4 gameplay under the microscope, too.
“What’s even funnier is this calls everything into question. People couldn’t tell if he was clueless or a god-tier player in Diablo 4 because the game’s so brain-dead simple,” he laughed. “But in PoE? It’s painfully obvious. The man’s lost.”
Asmon didn’t hold back, calling Musk’s alleged “hardcore gamer” persona a total flop. “If he’s trying to convince people he’s a real gamer by having someone else play his account? That’s beyond cringe. It’s embarrassing. It’s like showing up to a marathon in a car. Extremely f***ing lame,” he concluded, clearly unimpressed.
So, is Musk gaming or just gaming the system? Either way, the internet is having a field day.
