TRUMP ADMINISTRATION GOES NUCLEAR ON HARVARD, BARRING FOREIGN STUDENT ENROLLMENT – HARVARD SUES BACK
The Trump administration has taken drastic action against Harvard University, effectively barring the institution from enrolling any new foreign students. This move has been described as the administration going “nuclear”. Harvard has not taken this lying down; the university has filed a lawsuit against the government in federal court, challenging the decision.
Harvard’s stance is clear: they contend that the government’s action is unconstitutional retaliation for the university defying the White House’s political demands. According to Harvard, this decision violates the First Amendment and is expected to have an immediate and devastating effect on the more than 7,000 visa holders currently studying there. The university is also planning to file a temporary restraining order to try and block the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from enforcing this move.
The government’s side, as announced by DHS, accuses Harvard of creating an unsafe campus environment. They attribute this specifically to allowing what they call “anti-american pro terry agitators”. On top of that, DHS has leveled accusations that Harvard is coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party. This alleged coordination reportedly includes hosting and training members of a Chinese paramilitary group, supposedly as recently as 2024.
Let’s look at the numbers. Harvard currently enrolls 7,000 foreign students who come from over 100 countries, with most being graduate students. Total enrollment at Harvard is less than 30,000, meaning a staggering 25% to 30% of the student body isn’t even American. We have to ask: Why are our federal tax dollars being sent to institutions like Harvard – hundreds of millions of dollars, by the way – when such a huge chunk of their student population is foreign? It seems like that money is being used to subsidize bringing in individuals described as radicals, including that guy from the Middle East.
The core issue here, which is undeniable, is the allowance of radicalization on campus. While the government is couching some of this in terms of anti-semitism, the real problem is simply that these universities are bringing in people who are spreading terror propaganda. For far too long, universities like Harvard have been molding some of the most far-left radicals anyone has ever seen. These “international students” are said to come here and actively radicalize other students. And if they’re Chinese, they’re stealing our secrets. The truth is, people aren’t going to places like Harvard for just an education; they’re going there to be radicalized. This leads to students openly discussing things like Intifada and talking about bringing the fight, the crime, the war right here to America. Frankly, we don’t want to import more people who are going to commit heinous crimes, especially given incidents linked to the kind of rhetoric we’re hearing from these woke college kids. It’s getting to the point where you can’t even trust imports from countries like the UK or Canada anymore, because many of these places look like war zones, completely invaded with certain elements. If someone goes there and then applies from there, I don’t want them here either. And no, I don’t think that’s racist.
The government’s pressure on Harvard’s international enrollment started with a request from Homeland Security on April 16th. This request demanded that Harvard provide information about foreign students who might be involved in crimes or protests that could get them deported. It makes sense – these students used their Harvard enrollment as the reason for getting a visa in the first place, so the government absolutely should know who they are. Harvard was given just 72 hours to hand over a massive amount of records, including audio and video footage of foreign students in protests or dangerous activities on campus, if they wanted to regain their ability to host international students.
Harvard’s president has claimed the university has made changes to combat anti-semitism, but they insist they won’t back down on their core legally protected principles. They also said they’ll respond later to the serious allegations about coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party. Personally, I’m almost certain they did this.
Here’s the bottom line: Harvard should be defunded without question. We need massive investigations into the teachers there, especially regarding any ties to China. All federal aid needs to be shut off immediately. These universities aren’t really about college anymore; they’re billion-dollar businesses. We need to keep these radicalizing elements and dangerous people out of our country.
