July 12, 2025McDonald’s: More Than Just Insane Prices – Recent Incidents Expose Alarming Dangers
We often discuss McDonald’s, whether it’s their expensive Big Mac meals, their deceiving advertising, or the overall decline of fast food. However, we need to bring to your attention something far more serious: the two very scary incidents that occurred over the last 24 hours at local McDonald’s restaurants. These are stories that aren’t getting a lot of coverage, but they highlight a persistent problem of attacks and workplace violence across the United States.
Just yesterday, in a Detroit-area McDonald’s, a manager, Jennifer Harris, a 36-year-old mother of six, was tragically taken from us by an employee. Jennifer had been a dedicated employee, working at the East Point McDonald’s on 9mm and Schroeder Avenue for an impressive 15 years. Police reported that Jennifer had asked the 26-year-old employee to leave following an argument. Shockingly, the employee went home but then returned with a kitchen knife. Our sources reveal that the employee, who goes by the name Risen Phoenix, had expressed significant frustration on social media about Jennifer sending her home early multiple times. Posts from Risen Phoenix described Jennifer as a “bully” who disrespected people, brought negative energy, gossiped, played games, and even made mistakes. One post even alleged that Jennifer was saying “racial shit,” despite both individuals being Black.
The horrifying attack unfolded at 8:00 a.m., with the employee inflicting “several pokes” upon Jennifer. A witness described the scene, stating, “She just started poking her and I ran to help” and “I tried to stop her there was no stopping her she was hitting her everywhere”. Jennifer Harris’s daughter, Antonia Griffin, shared her grief with reporters, saying, “My mama was a good person she was the best mom anyone could ask for my mama she woke up every day to work for us my mama died trying to take care of us”. After the attack, the suspect attempted to flee the restaurant but was stopped when a legally armed customer fired a warning shot. While we question the legality of warning shots, it was enough to deter the attacker. This 26-year-old, Risen Phoenix, now faces a lifetime in prison. We believe this tragic outcome could have been entirely avoided; instead of resorting to violence, the employee could have simply sought a different job or even worked at another McDonald’s location for additional hours, as it’s generally not a hard job to get if you are drug-free.
But that wasn’t the only incident. In a completely different state, Arizona, another life was lost at a McDonald’s drive-thru yesterday. Daniel J. Becker Jr., whom we understand was a “good kid,” tragically lost his life at 6 a.m. while working for Uber Eats. This incident stemmed from a verbal altercation at the drive-thru window, where Carlos Monte Mishau III, described as a “young brown individual,” fired shots into the restaurant. We simply cannot comprehend how arguments at a fast-food drive-thru escalate to someone taking a life. This represents a profound “culture issue” that we struggle to understand, where individuals go from zero to taking a life over something that should not be that important.
These types of incidents, where lives are taken over seemingly trivial disputes at McDonald’s, appear to happen almost every week, and it’s absolutely crazy.
