A Yucca Valley, California, home that has been linked to Amber Heard sold this month for over $1 million, according to Redfin records, as the actress faces a $10.4 million judgment in Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against her, which she has appealed.
A trove of documents relating to the trial were unsealed over the weekend. They included text messages which were not presented during the trial from around the time Depp allegedly kicked Heard on a plane, in which he apologized to her, according to a review of the files from The Daily Beast. Depp’s team could not locate the text messages. There was also communication from Heard and Depp’s divorce proceedings from her lawyers telling her she was “walking away tens of millions of dollars,” which was also excluded from the defamation trial.
After a seven-week long trial, jurors found Heard had defamed Depp in a 2018 op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post about her experience suffering from domestic abuse. Heard had countersued her ex-husband, a suit which she won part of and was awarded $2 million in. Since the June verdict, Heard’s team filed a post-trial motion for a new trial to be held, which was denied. After Heard appealed the verdict, Depp also appealed the verdict in the countersuit.
