June 17, 2025Cutting Through the Noise: Our Trust in President Trump Amidst Middle East Tensions and Social Media Disinformation
Washington D.C. – The current climate on platforms like X is undeniably fraught with anxiety. Our nerves are certainly rattled as a deluge of panic floods our feeds, driven by both genuine concerns and a significant amount of fake bot traffic from foreign entities posing as Americans, all attempting to sway public opinion in various directions. It’s painfully obvious that a massive operation is underway on social media, with individuals potentially “on the take” across the spectrum of this discourse. We’ve observed an unending stream of anonymous sources, particularly from Israeli media, suggesting the U.S. is on the brink of ground involvement, yet President Trump himself has remained silent on this specific claim.
Amidst this chaotic information landscape, we emphasize the consistent stance of President Donald Trump. He has been exceedingly clear about his position, and it has not wavered: the U.S. will stay out of direct military involvement unless Iran launches a direct offensive against American targets. While we expect continued U.S. support through weapons sales and intelligence, the commitment to keeping American boots off the ground remains firm. This aligns with what we understand to be Trump’s plan from the beginning: negotiate, and if negotiation fails, allow Israel to manage the situation as they deem necessary. Despite calls for condemnation, President Trump recently called for a ceasefire. We are completely content with Israel addressing the situation, prioritizing the minimization of civilian casualties and keeping American troops out of it.
A key point of focus for us is Iran’s nuclear ambitions. President Trump has been remarkably consistent over the past decade that Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon. His foreign policy team was encouraged to seek a deal with Iran to achieve this goal, with a clear stipulation that uranium enrichment would not be tolerated. He’s repeatedly stated that this outcome would be achieved “one of two ways: either the easy way or the other way”. It’s crucial to understand the distinction: Iran could pursue civilian nuclear power without the need for enrichment, yet they have rejected this path and enriched uranium far beyond any level necessary for civilian purposes. This has led to Iran being found in violation of their non-proliferation obligations by the International Atomic Energy Agency, which is hardly a right-wing organization. We find no compelling argument for Iran needing enrichment capabilities so far above civilian thresholds, especially while simultaneously violating basic non-proliferation obligations and enriching to the point of weapons-grade uranium.
While the President has demonstrated significant restraint, prioritizing the protection of our troops and citizens, the possibility of further action to end Iran’s enrichment remains a decision for him to make. We acknowledge the valid concerns about foreign entanglements given the past 25 years of what we view as idiotic foreign policy. However, we believe President Trump has earned our trust on this issue. From what we’ve observed up close, his sole interest lies in deploying the American military strictly for the accomplishment of American goals.
We also urge caution regarding the narratives circulating online. It’s increasingly apparent that many sources pushing for U.S. intervention, or claiming imminent American involvement, are originating from Israel. Is it not possible they are attempting to mount a pressure campaign to draw the United States into the conflict? We’ve seen similar patterns of potential disinformation operations in the past. Claims that an executive order could unilaterally declare war are simply incorrect; Congress declares war, a power not exercised since 1942, save for the authorization for the use of force in Iraq. Social media, particularly X, is currently a dangerous environment for such misinformation.
Ultimately, while Republican war hawks exist, President Trump is not a repeat of Bush Jr.. We genuinely believe Trump abhors war. He has been consistent in his foreign policy, particularly on keeping American boots off the ground, with the notable exception of the Syria situation in his first term. We choose to trust the President’s word and his consistent actions on this matter, rather than succumbing to panic-mongering often amplified by foreign bot farms on social media. Iran holds 100% of the control here; ending their nuclear program is the key. If Israeli actions continue to escalate without resolution, then perhaps our prior assessments of Prime Minister Netanyahu will prove correct. We are choosing optimism and trust in the President’s stated position, rather than succumbing to the constant deluge of anonymous, unverified sources.
