June 12, 2025Middle East on Brink: Is Trump’s Window to Prevent War Closing as Tensions Mount?
Mounting concerns over a potential Israeli strike on Iran, coupled with US personnel withdrawals and faltering nuclear talks, paint a grim picture for stability in the Middle East. We’ve been closely monitoring the escalating situation, an area where we firmly believe America should have no part. Our nation faces significant domestic issues, including ongoing riots in numerous Democrat-led cities, that demand our attention.
Israel appears poised to attack Iran, according to officials in the United States and Europe. The primary justification cited is Iran’s alleged proximity to developing a nuclear weapon. However, this narrative strikes a familiar chord with us, recalling the claims of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) used to justify the Iraq War under Bush Jr.. It feels as though the same playbook is being run again. Comedian Dave Smith aptly observes that going to war with Iran, which poses “absolutely no threat to us,” would be a “substantially larger catastrophe than Iraq” and could “destroy the USA”. While we understand arguments for Israel’s self-defense, the larger scale of this conflict means that any significant US military involvement would effectively be an invasion, despite Israel’s assertions of independent action. Israel relies on American weaponry and the perceived backing of the US alliance for its military operations.
President Donald Trump is seen as desperately trying to prevent yet another large-scale war. Our video highlights his pursuit of a nuclear deal with Iran, a stark contrast to his 2018 decision to exit the Obama-era agreement. Trump’s administration has even removed several Iran hawks from its ranks, a move described by one pro-Israel outlet as a “purge”. Both the Trump administration and Iran have expressed a desire to strike a deal; for Trump, it would be a “political and diplomatic win,” while for Iran, it offers “desperately needed relief from sanctions that have crippled its economy”. Despite initial talks being described as “positive and respectful,” President Trump recently expressed losing confidence in reaching an agreement, accusing Tehran of delaying. Iran, in turn, has accused Washington of not being serious and not respecting its right to enrich uranium for “peaceful purposes”. Iranian President Mazud Pez Na has reiterated Iran’s “redlines,” stating they will not build nuclear weapons but reserve the right to conduct research on such topics.
The situation is further complicated by Iran’s threats to strike US military bases in the region if conflict erupts over its nuclear program. Iranian officials have declared that if a conflict is “imposed on us,” all US bases are within their reach and will be “boldly target[ed]”. Amidst these escalating security risks, the United States has begun to withdraw diplomats and authorize the voluntary departure of US military family members from locations across the Middle East. The Pentagon has ordered the withdrawal of troops and non-essential staff from embassies in Baghdad, Kuwait, and Bahrain. We believe getting personnel out now is crucial, as we’d prefer America not be there at all, given the potential for easy targets.
A significant concern for us is President Trump’s strong, unwavering support for Israel, raising questions about whether he would truly stand up to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if “BB wants to do what BB wants to do”. Netanyahu, whom Trump once called “Israel’s greatest friend ever,” has reportedly pressed Trump to strike Iran, even attempting a plan several months ago that Trump “waved off”. Trump reportedly warned Netanyahu against launching a strike while US negotiations with Iran are underway. We see Netanyahu as potentially “a little bit unhinged,” and fear he “just might not care” about Trump’s efforts to prevent a larger conflict. Furthermore, we hold the Biden administration accountable for enabling this escalation, specifically by clearing a prisoner swap deal with Iran and lifting a freeze on $6 billion in Iranian funds.
Oil prices have already spiked overnight due to these geopolitical concerns. We are firm in our conviction that America does not need another foreign war, particularly one that has “nothing to do with defending our own nation”. Matt Walsh’s perspective resonates strongly with us: “Iran does not pose any credible threat to the United States”. We believe that if President Trump is “reading the room,” he understands that we, the American people, “did not vote for this”. The prospect of war with Iran is deeply unpopular and would certainly divide political movements like MAGA. We believe nobody wants war with Iran.
