KARMELO ANTHONY REFUSES PLEA DEAL, DEMANDS $1.4 MILLION FROM SUPPORTERS AS COURT CASE DELAYED
We have an absolutely massive update in the Karmelo Anthony case after getting some of the worst possible news yesterday, where we’re sure his lawyer and family were hoping and anticipating a grand jury to return a lesser charge. However, a grand jury has formally handed down an indictment of first-degree murder against Karmelo Anthony, the 17-year-old Frisco High School student. This charge carries a possible sentence of five up to 99 years or life in prison if convicted. In a shocking development, Karmelo Anthony has declined a plea deal, which is extraordinarily risky, as we’re pretty sure they’ve got this dude “dead to rights”. Furthermore, his family has dramatically increased their fundraising goal, demanding nearly $1.4 million from supporters after previously raising $500,000. The court case is now officially delayed.
Karmelo Anthony has been free on bond since the incident on April 2nd. While he claims he stabbed Austin Medcaf in self-defense during an altercation that preceded the stabbing, the grand jury has moved forward with the first-degree murder indictment. The father of Austin Medcaf, Jeff Medcaf, stated he is “just glad that the process is moving forward and [he] look[s] forward to the trial”. Colin County District Attorney Greg Willisaw’s office will prosecute this case. The next step in this legal process is the assigning of a judge who will set an initial appearance date, which could be days, weeks, or even months away. We now know that a trial date won’t be set before 2026, meaning Karmelo will be out of prison for a minimum of a full year plus the entire trial duration.
There’s significant concern and criticism surrounding the handling of this case. As we’ve reported, the judge reportedly reduced Karmelo Anthony’s bail by 75%. Many, including myself, believe nobody should be able to return to normal society while they have a first-degree charge over their head. Sarah Fields, who has been covering this case thoroughly, has stated that Karmelo Anthony has been awarded special privileges from the beginning of this case. She points out the disparity, noting that her ex-postmaster, indicted on the same charge, was rearrested and given a higher bail ($500K after an initial $100K). Matt Walsh also commented, stating it’s “absolutely insane” to have a guy out on bail with a first-degree charge, urging he be thrown back in jail until convicted. Karmelo’s family has been “shown special privileges from the start,” a sentiment we certainly echo.
The Anthony family has updated their Give and Go request to $1,396,725. They claim these funds are for essential and urgent needs including:
- Safe relocation for their family (which they’ve already done with the first half a million).
- Basic living expenses (we question how an average family needs $1.4 million a year for this).
- Transportation to and from court proceedings (do they not have a car?).
- Trauma-informed counseling for the entire family.
- Enhanced security measures, likely from Dominique Alexander’s fraudulent security team.
- Retaining qualified legal counsel and investigative team (despite already having a lawyer; we don’t believe more lawyers necessarily increase the likelihood of a not-guilty plea).
The Anthony family posted a message expressing gratitude for support, calling this an “unimaginable tragedy”. They stated they had been preparing for the indictment and are now entering an “even more intense phase” that will demand everything emotionally, financially, and spiritually, which we interpret as a clear plea for “more money”. We find their statement, where they refer to their son as “your neighbor, your friend, your nephew,” to be emotionally manipulative and bonkers. They’ve only provided a single update to the people who previously gave them $500,000, and now they want $1.4 million. They also invoke “a loving God-fearing family” seeking safety, justice, and peace. Despite claims of “lies” and “threats,” they continue to choose forgiveness, but state “forgiveness does not mean silence or surrender”. We see this as a demand for continued financial support. They even claim this is about “every young person’s right to a fair process” and ensuring the constitution applies to all. We believe this is simply invoking “race victim stuff”. We know the full story: Karmelo was where he didn’t belong and took another kid’s life; it’s not complicated. This is not a self-defense case, as Karmelo brought a knife to school with the intent to use it, which is a fact. We humbly ask you to consider the immense grift this represents.
Dominique Alexander, the “career criminal” from the Next Generation Action Network, who has been advocating for Karmelo, also released a statement. He stated there will be a trial and that he will be using his “fraudulent organization” to ensure Karmelo receives a fair trial. Alexander claims the case exemplifies “what it means to be black in America” where even self-defense is questioned. It’s clear that Karmelo is “not being held accountable for his actions by his father, his family, or influences around him”. There were rumors that Karmelo’s mother might have been involved with Dominique Alexander, leading to Karmelo’s father cutting ties and terminating services with Alexander and NGN. However, Alexander just made a statement yesterday, so the claim that he hasn’t been seen publicly is simply not true.
To wrap it up, the court case is delayed, Karmelo has turned down a plea deal, and his family is demanding another million dollars. This is an insane grift, and we will continue to provide updates as each new piece of information comes out. Make sure you subscribe or follow to stay locked in here.
