The Grift Wars Explode: Fundraiser Frenzy Surrounds Karmelo Anthony and Shiloh Hendrickx Incident
Things are truly heating up in the financial battle centered around Karmelo Anthony, Shiloh Hendrickx, and the NAACP, with new reports emerging of “bad actors” attempting to shut down Shiloh Hendrickx’s fundraiser and GiveSendGo in general. It seems for many, this isn’t just about the money; it’s about sending a message.
We’ve seen a flurry of activity on fundraising platforms, particularly GiveSendGo. While GiveSendGo initially allowed all the vile comments on the Karmelo Anthony fundraiser to remain, they eventually disabled comments on both that fundraiser and the Shiloh Hendrickx fundraiser once she began receiving similar comments. We covered previously how much we disagreed with GiveSendGo disabling comments. This censorship by GiveSendGo is wild. People have even resorted to changing their names on the platform to leave messages like “white guilt is dead,” “black fatigue,” and “f GoFundMe censorship” (though it’s GiveSendGo).
Counter-Fundraisers Emerge Amidst ‘Grift’ Accusations
Right now, if you look at GiveSendGo, there are no less than two dozen different fundraisers actively counter-fundraising against Shiloh Hendrickx, often for what appear to be race-based reasons. Many of these seem to be attempts to “grift” off the situation, which we expected.
We’ve seen examples like “Stand Against Shiloh Hendricks and Racism,” which has raised $1,800. Some counter-fundraisers explicitly state goals like “Shiloh had started many of them that were all turned down but here she got 500K for hate let’s beat that with more money for whatever”. There’s also “Shiloh Hendricks is a hateful let’s end discrimination,” “help me the stand against racism racism,” and “help Rochester bipac thrive”.
One particularly noteworthy example is organized by Jesse Campbell, affiliated with “nonprofit Wrench.org graphics company customdesign”. This campaign aims to raise $25,000 for local BIPO clients dealing with poverty, but we question if this is truly a nonprofit, suggesting it might be used to enrich the organizer’s own company and promote his business. They claim to guarantee a value of service at minimum 20% higher thanks to volunteers and partnerships as a 501(c)(3), but it looks like grifting to us. We have to ask, aren’t you profiting off of racism, Jesse Campbell?
Another counter-fundraiser, standing against Shiloh Hendrickx and racism, supports the NAACP. Organized by Scott Beckman on behalf of the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, it states Shiloh Hendrickx was caught on camera using racist language, has not apologized (and shouldn’t have to, in our opinion), and has raised over $350,000 in direct support of her racism. They claim reading comments on her fundraiser is like reading “the very worst thoughts of humanity,” though we’ve seen vile, hateful, and incredibly racist comments on Karmelo Anthony’s fundraiser too. This NAACP fundraiser aims to raise as much money as Shiloh, ideally more (wonder why they want that much?), to be donated to the NAACP, stating the dream is to prove “there’s more of us to love and understanding in our hearts”. But why would the NAACP even need this money?
Other NAACP-related campaigns include “amplify amplify voices against racism and hate” with a $500,000 goal. Honestly, it seems they care less about the word itself and more about enriching themselves and the power it gives them over white people. There’s even a campaign not from the U.S. aiming to fight racism on social media with a £100,000 goal.
Perhaps the most unbelievable is the “official NAACP help us seek justice” campaign. With a $350,000 goal (initially thought to be €100,000), this fundraiser, reportedly supported by people with “white guilt,” seeks justice for a five-year-old facing racial hate. We’re not sure what justice would entail for a child in this situation. The source says the child might not even know what was said, especially if they are autistic, which we’ve seen no evidence of. They claim 100% of this money (minus GoFundMe fees) will go to the family in a trust. Why does this kid need $500,000 just for being called a word? This looks like winning the lottery because someone called him a word.
Massive Sums and Questionable Motives
Shiloh Hendrickx herself has reportedly raised over $591,000. We believe she raised this money after she was doxed and people called Child Protective Services on her.
The amounts being raised are insane. We thought we were in a recession, but thousands of dollars are pouring in. We question how much of the money raised for the NAACP campaigns they will actually keep, even if they say it goes into a fund or trust. The campaigns claim to be rooted in the truth that no child should be dehumanized, and love must be louder than hate. However, it seems these people only see value in money and the movement in money. They aren’t asking for volunteers; they just want money.
We also observe that the child in the video looks closer to nine or ten years old, not five as the media is presenting. What does this kid need this money for? He doesn’t need to relocate, deal with doxing, harassment, or threats. And by all accounts, this little kid was stealing from Shiloh. This situation is hard to believe is even real.
Efforts to Take Down Fundraiser
Interestingly, Kendria, who identifies as black, is working to get Shiloh’s fundraiser taken down. She stated her friend works at Block and is escalating the issue to the compliance team, confirming attempts by the black community to get the fundraiser removed. We suspect GiveSendGo, having already removed comments, is likely facing pressure from payment processors. This is notable because GiveSendGo didn’t seem to have problems with the anti-white hate comments that were abundant on the Karmelo Anthony fundraiser before comments were turned off.
Giving a random woman $700,000 isn’t winning anything. It’s sending a message, and if that’s the goal, fine. But now this kid, who was reportedly stealing, is set to get $400,000. Is that winning?
It looks like we’ve reached the monetization phase of this story. Get ready, because it’s likely going to get even crazier once the mainstream media picks this up.
