June 23, 2025New Surveillance Footage Destroys Self-Defense Claim in Karmelo Anthony Case; Indictment Expected
FRISCO, Texas – Shocking new surveillance footage has emerged that completely debunks the self-defense claims surrounding the incident involving Karmelo Anthony and Austin Metaf, dramatically shifting the narrative of what was initially portrayed by some as a civil rights struggle. We’ve learned that this critical evidence shows no physical confrontation whatsoever between the two individuals prior to Anthony taking Metaf’s life.
The Daily Mail, one of only two news organizations granted access to this footage, reports that the video, recorded from a stationary camera at a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, shows a calm scene leading up to the tragic event. This contradicts earlier police statements suggesting a physical altercation and directly refutes Karmelo Anthony’s assertion that he acted in self-defense. The footage reviewed at the Frisco Independent School District (ISD) headquarters showed nothing to indicate chaos was about to ensue. It appears Karmelo Anthony “just walked up and poked Austin Metaf in the heart,” according to reports on the new evidence.
Frisco ISD Withheld Critical Footage
For a significant period, the Frisco ISD refused to release this surveillance footage to the public. This decision was likely made because officials “know that they are divisive and that they’re going to make things bad”. When access was finally granted, it came with strict guidelines: reporters were only allowed to take handwritten notes and were explicitly barred from capturing or republishing clips. The district cited the discernibility of student identities as the reason for this limited release, despite the high-angle camera position making identification difficult.
The Collapse of a “Ready-Made Narrative”
Immediately after the incident, a strong narrative emerged, pushed by what we’ve identified as “race hustlers and propaganda media”. This narrative attempted to twist Karmelo Anthony’s actions into a “civil rights martyr” story, trying to portray the then-17-year-old black kid as “the next Rosa Parks”. It painted a picture of a “noble black teen unfairly harassed by a racist white kid” who was “forced to defend himself from the bigoted aggression”. This “ready-made narrative” led to hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations and saw the “mainstream press all but sainted” Anthony. However, this carefully crafted defense story is now “falling apart at the seams” thanks to the new surveillance footage.
While self-defense law experts note that a case can always be framed as self-defense “until you look at the facts”, and that lethal force can be justified under various scenarios of “imminent threat” even without a weapon being drawn, the defense team for Karmelo Anthony has not presented such scenarios, other than his presence in an opposing team’s tent. The newly revealed footage directly undermines any claim of an imminent threat.
Concerns Over Indictment and Potential Lighter Charges
Karmelo Anthony is currently charged in the first degree and faces a significant prison sentence. A grand jury has been reviewing all the evidence, and an indictment is expected this week, possibly as early as Friday. An indictment formalizes the charges against him.
Despite the overwhelming new evidence, we remain deeply concerned that Karmelo Anthony might receive a “much lighter charge” or even “beat these charges”. This concern stems from the perceived actions of the judge, district attorney, and school district, which have seemingly “protected” Anthony and “made things easier on him”. There’s a fear that charges could be lowered to manslaughter from first-degree murder, resulting in a significantly lighter sentence. The potential for acquittal is also discussed, based on factors like perceptions of him being “just a kid,” a “good boy,” or a “future scientist,” as well as his lowered bail and privileged home confinement.
We will continue to monitor this case closely as the indictment is announced.
