Karmelo Anthony Trial Faces Significant Delay as Vile Petition Targets Victim’s Brother
We can confirm what we have predicted for some time: the Karmelo Anthony trial is very likely to be delayed, potentially by one to three years. Our analysis suggests this delay is not due to the case’s supposed “complexity” or “media attention,” as claimed, but is a willful tactic to allow the public to forget the details. We’ve observed that other trials, especially if racial roles were reversed, would have already concluded. This delay, in our view, is not organic and raises questions about its timing, perhaps even during an election year.
As of May 31st, there has been no indictment in the Karmelo Anthony case. Grand jury proceedings are expected later this month, which will determine if he faces first-degree charges, carrying a much heavier sentence, or if he will be given yet another break. A trial date remains unset.
A History of Leniency for Karmelo Anthony
We have consistently highlighted that Karmelo Anthony appears to have received undue leniency throughout this process.
- He was granted bond, which was then significantly reduced from $1 million to $250,000, allowing him to remain at home while Austin Mechaf is no longer alive.
- Furthermore, he was permitted to graduate from school despite rules that should have led to his expulsion. We firmly believe he has been given “the easy way out every step of the way,” and we have no doubt this pattern will continue.
Vile Petition Launched to Charge Austin Mechaf’s Brother
In a truly shocking development, individuals associated with Karmelo Anthony’s camp have launched a petition aiming to arrest Austin Mechaf’s brother, Hunter Mechaf. Spearheaded by Mike Begs of blssignal.com, which we believe is a “race grifting website,” the petition demands that Hunter Mechaf be charged with a felony for his alleged role in his own brother’s passing. This is the young man who held his twin brother in his arms as he died.
Despite the outlandish nature of this demand, the petition is real, having garnered 191 verified signatures. The petition falsely claims that Hunter and Austin Mechaf attacked Karmelo Anthony during a high school track meet on April 2nd, 2025 (the date of the attack, not the petition’s start) and argues that Hunter has not been held accountable despite allegedly participating in the altercation that led to his brother’s passing.
We find this demand appalling. There is no public evidence whatsoever to corroborate Karmelo Anthony’s claim of self-defense. Not a single eyewitness has come forward to support this narrative. We’ve seen no public evidence that Karmelo Anthony was prevented from simply walking away from a place he shouldn’t have been in the first place. It’s a widely known meme that “all they had to do is ask Carmelo Anthony to leave,” illustrating how easily the situation could have been avoided.
Supporters of this petition and Karmelo Anthony often propagate a narrative that he acted in self-defense and was justified in taking Austin Mechaf’s life because of “things he didn’t like” or because “other white people did things that black folks don’t like”. Comments on the petition range from demands for equal treatment in the justice system to claims of “white fatigue” and the assertion that white people don’t have the right to impede black Americans’ path. Some even quote Texas law, suggesting that if someone dies during the commission of a felony, they should be charged. However, as we’ve shown, there is no corroborating evidence that Hunter or Austin Mechaf committed a felony against Karmelo Anthony.
Lack of Transparency in Karmelo Anthony’s Fundraiser
The fundraiser for Karmelo Anthony, active on platforms like Gofundme, has reportedly raised over $534,730. However, we have noted a concerning lack of transparency: supporters who contributed their hard-earned money have not received a single update since April 15th, roughly three weeks prior to our report. This stands in stark contrast to our own fundraising efforts, where we ensured full transparency and offered refunds when proper allocation of funds could not be verified. We suspect this lack of accountability might be because, for some supporters, every dollar contributed is simply seen as “sticking it to Whitey”.
In our view, Karmelo Anthony should be held fully accountable for taking Austin Mechaf’s life. We consider those signing this petition to be “vile clowns” and are committed to continuing our coverage of this crucial case.
