Left’s Joe Rogan Pursuit Hits Roadblock: Hasan Piker’s Authenticity Questioned Amidst Million Dollar Effort
We’ve been watching the left’s extensive efforts to cultivate their answer to figures like Joe Rogan, and honestly, the situation, particularly concerning Hasan Piker, is quite telling. Reports suggest they’re looking to spend or have spent tens of millions in what we see as clear astroturfing attempts, and Hasan Piker appears to be a prime example.
What we’ve found is a disconnect in their strategy. Democrats seem to think their election losses stem from a lack of “woke leftist podcasters,” which simply isn’t true; plenty exist and are popular. Instead, I believe the media and the system itself have pushed the Overton window so far left that what’s considered “normal” is now labeled “right-wing”. This is why figures like Joe Rogan, Andrew Schulz, and Theo Vaughn, whom they label conservative because conservatives listen, are often just “normal people”.
In contrast, figures they seem to heavily back, like Hasan Piker and Sam Cedar, I frankly view as “total brain morons” and “slimeballs” lacking widespread appeal. They’ve seemingly put “all their chips” into making Hasan Piker prominent, including a “big fluff piece” in Time Magazine. However, it’s been a “total disaster”.
We’ve observed concerning patterns regarding Hasan Piker’s authenticity and conviction. I view him as a “grifter” lacking genuine belief in what he says, primarily appealing to an audience I characterize as “angry 15-year-olds who lar as revolutionaries”. They strike me as “fraudulent”.
Here are some specific instances that raise questions for us about his alleged lack of conviction:
- He’ll call for boycotts, like against Amazon, yet he streams on Twitch, which is owned by Amazon.
- He’s talked about doing things like going to Gaza, stating “I might actually take Marshall with me,” but then admits he most likely won’t, citing lack of security assurances. This seems to be a pattern of saying outrageous things to appeal to his audience without following through.
- Despite calling for actions like taking out landlords, he doesn’t do so.
- He has publicly supported actions by groups like the Houthies, saying things like “I believe what the Houthies are doing is a good thing”. Yet, when reportedly questioned by law enforcement about supporting Hamas or Houthies, he responded with “10 toes fucking down i’m not going to go beyond it,” only repeating “i’m on the side of civilians”. I interpret this as “pussied out”. Saying one thing publicly to your audience and another to law enforcement raises significant questions about conviction.
His recent brief ban from Twitch was frankly “hilariously pathetic,” just a 24-hour suspension over a holiday weekend. While others gloat, I don’t actually want him banned; I believe he should be on the “world stage” so his chat logs and views are visible. Banning people often doesn’t achieve much. I understand why Amazon might have banned him, as advertisers likely don’t want to be associated with someone who has “unironically said that he is pro- Huthy”. There’s little gray area there.
We’ve also seen him discuss his ban while sharing a shirtless video, which is an interesting choice. His performance in a debate against Ethan Klein didn’t exactly showcase intelligence. And while I think he should be able to cover news events, his reaction and comments following a specific incident struck me as incredibly strange.
Compared to Joe Rogan, who generally “does it himself” when he says something and is “authentic,” Hasan Piker seems to just tell others what to do without following through. He’s been called out multiple times, like not participating in a Dr Pepper boycott he discussed.
In my view, trying to make Hasan Piker the left’s main figure has been a “total disaster”. The New York Times even attempted to boost him with a “fawning profile,” seemingly trying to make him their “Joe Rogan,” but ultimately, I see him as an “actual radical” and a “moron”.
It’s honestly great for the Democrats to continue backing him. Having someone they promote who they say said things like “America deserved what happened to it on 911” or supports giving “healthy 15-year-old double massctomy people” (as presented in the source) seems highly beneficial for the opposition. I sincerely hope they “tie their boat to Hassan Piker” and continue down this path.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking for non-radical opinions and want to tune in, I live stream every day at 2 Eastern and on Fridays at 1 Eastern on my channel Quartercast. We have a full-time staff, including Luke Grodowski, Hannah Claire Brimllo, and Melanie Mack, and we recently had Ian Cross on a bunch of times. While I prefer you watch on Rumble, you can find Quartercast on YouTube by searching the name or using the link in the description. I try to have conviction and follow through on what I ask people to do, or at least admit when I don’t.
