Unmasking the Creeps: Our Investigation Reveals the Harassers Behind SaveAFox Creator Mikayla Raines’ Tragic Passing

We are bringing to light a truly horrific story that has shaken the online world. Mikayla Raines, the face behind SaveAFox, a beloved fox rescue with nearly 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube, tragically passed away a few days ago after choosing to exit this world. While her decision was her own, we believe it was significantly influenced by the unending and unrelenting harassment she endured from a few individuals. Our team has dug deep, identifying not just one, but as many as four individuals who dedicated their lives to making this poor woman’s life insufferable.

Many of you, like us, saw this heartbreaking story and wanted to understand what happened and how to seek justice. While legal justice may be difficult to achieve, our mission is to shed a very bright light on the losers who harassed a woman dedicated to saving foxes.

A significant portion of this harassment spiraled out of snark subreddits. For those unfamiliar, snark subreddits are typically created to harass a single person or a small group, with participants often claiming they are “holding people to account”. However, in 99% of cases, this harassment is based on completely unsubstantiated speculation. We’ve seen examples of these toxic communities, including one dedicated to harassing a cancer survivor to “discredit her cancer diagnosis” because they felt she “didn’t look like she had cancer bad enough”. Ethan Klein, a well-known creator, also spoke about this phenomenon, stating that snarkers engage in “maximum cruelty with zero accountability,” and that Reddit “knows they allow it, they defend it and they seem to participate in it”.

Mikayla herself became aware of a snark subreddit dedicated to monitoring her and SaveAFox in April. Despite its relatively small following—only 19 posts and 91 comments over a year—it seemed to really bother her. She visited the subreddit multiple times, attempting to defend herself against unsubstantiated claims, which included accusations that she was “abusing the animals,” “not taking care of them properly,” or that “she should just stick to Only Fans”. Mikayla tried to respond to their “most egregious claims,” but these individuals were not interested in the truth; they only wanted to “spread lies”.

Now, we are unmasking those behind this relentless campaign:

• Marissa Deanzo, also known as Quesio Lion: This Reddit user has emerged as the most significant leader in the harassment campaign. Deanzo is a trans man from Georgia, described as a “trans furry”. Disturbingly, following the news of Mikayla’s passing, Deanzo made an unapologetic post on Reddit stating, “I’m not backing down f off.”. Deanzo further claimed, “All I did was put together a few sources pointing out some things she did wrong I had no hand in bullying any of this in any kind”. Our team found that the rabbit hole goes deeper: past friends have provided evidence suggesting Deanzo is a zoophile and had previously expressed “bedroom interests with their cat”. Users also reported Deanzo had created zoophilic and “terrible stuff artwork,” with screenshots from a Discord server showing Deanzo admitting to “intrusive thoughts” about “horrible bedroom things with the cat” as early as 2022. Deanzo has since deleted their entire social media presence.
• “Is the owl video cute?”: This second identified perpetrator operated on Tumblr and is also trans. Despite denying responsibility, this user bizarrely claimed that anyone defending Mikayla was “some sort of racist” and that “Palestine is more important”. This individual obsessively posted about Mikayla, encouraging others to report her to the USFWS, accusing her of being an “animal hoarder,” and claiming she wasn’t properly licensed for her animals, despite SaveAFox’s significant earnings and donations. This user’s deranged mindset is evident in comments like, “It’s hilarious to watch these other nines get so worked up about this There are people getting bombed in the Middle East and all you all care about is some a man animal abuser taking their own life”.
• “what’s this / museid”: We discovered a third Tumblr user who admitted they “got multiple things wrong about Save a Fox”. This user had previously speculated that Mikayla only rescued foxes to get rich off social media and buy more property. In a more conciliatory post after Mikayla’s passing, they raised the question of where the line is “between rifle callouts and fuel for harassment”.

While we firmly believe that individuals ultimately make their own choices, we also recognize that the contributions of these “awful garbage humans” are significant. We are not expecting Reddit to shut down snark subreddits or for these individuals to be arrested, as what they do is technically legal in America. However, we are perfectly happy to shine a very bright spotlight on these people, and we will shed “not a single tear when the real names and locations of these other people come out and it gets revealed where they work and maybe people around them get informed that this is how they spend their time”. We are much bigger fans of internet justice.

The complete lack of apology or contrition from these individuals, even after Mikayla’s death, is absolutely psychotic. We hope this information was informative, and we will continue to report on this as we uncover more details about these individuals.
